Tawang Monastery is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Tawang, northeastern India. The monastery was founded by Merak Lama Lodre Gyatso in 1680 and serves as one of 6 monasteries where 2,000 monks study and practice Buddhism.

Dirang is a town and district headquarters of West Kameng district, Arunachal Pradesh. It is located approximately 50 km west of Tawang.
